Cayucos Murals
Have you ever viewed the artwork that beautify the walls around the town of Cayucos?

According to the Cayucos Mural Society's Mural Tour Map (as reproduced below), there are nine prominent murals for our enjoyment.

My personal favorites are the following four murals that are posted around Cayucos School and Birch Avenue:-

# 3 Cayucos: a Mosaic Sculpture Honoring Indigenous People

At B Street by Birch Avenue (right in front of the swimming pool) and across from Hardie Park is a 35 x 45 feet tiled sculpture that's produced by the following artists:

        Artist/Date: Peter Ladochy, 1999

#4   Butter & Steamer Day at Cass's Cayucos Landing

This 40 by 8 feet mural was created by Art Musso in 1994.  Today, it remain an icon on the side of Cayucos Surf Shop by Ocean Avenue and Cayucos Drive.

# 5 Reproduction of 13 Famous Western Paintings

If you visit the Old Cayucos Tavern at 180 N. Ocean Avenue, be sure to check out Grady Houser's 1980's reproduction of the 13 murals ranging in size from 6'x 8' to 8'x 22'.  Also represented are paintings by Frederic Remington.

Above  is a copy of a painting by Charles M. Russell (in 1909), reproduced as a mural by Grady F. Houser in 1987.  The painting titled "In Without Knocking", measures approx. 8' x 12'.

Shown above are murals by Grady in 1987, depicting copies of paintings by Frank McCarthy titled "Along the Stream" and "Packing In". These differ in size on left at approximately  7'x 10', and on right at approximately 7'x 6'.

# 6   Delivery at the Cottage Hotel

The 20' x 20' mural by John Meng (1993) can be found along the south side of Way Station , at 180 N. Ocean Ave before Hoppe's Restaurant was established.

# 7 Cayucos Blacksmith

Previously, there used to be a hardware store at 36 N. Ocean Ave, and this is where you could find a 10 x 10 feet mural on the south side of Ocean Ave.  The mural titled, "Cayucos Blacksmith" was produced by artist, Joanna Spinoa in 1994.

# 8  Underwater scene of "Cave of Mysteries"
