Where the West Meets the Surf

As
a resident of Cayucos, I am biased and love my home town. Cayucos is
one of the few remaining beach towns that offers great surf and free
public fishing on the pier. It's a place where time forgot and where
the West meets the surf...and not to forget the gorgeous sunsets.

Housing
about 3,000 people, the town is a mix of old and new homes. Land is
scarce and supply is limited. As such, home prices are higher in Cayucos
when compared to most of San Luis Obispo County. Homes situated along
the popular Pacific Avenue and Studio Drive runs parallel to the ocean
and offers panoramic views of the Estero Bay. Many of these are equipped
with direct steps to the beach. In addition to oceanfront properties,
there are the smaller beach cottages, bigger and new custom homes and
ranches on acreages.

While
the pace of life may be slow, the town is alive with festivals and
events all year round, including a farmer's market during summer.
Locals gather at the usual coffee stop for town news, gossip and data
exchange. Visitors zip through our main street, South Ocean Avenue, to
sample beautifully prepared cuisine at the local restaurants, or stay.

Many
good things abound in Cayucos ~ the weather is temperate, averaging
between high 60 to 80 degrees F. during the year. For families with
young children, the Cayucos Elementary and Middle School looks forward
to welcome them with a bright start. And there's the beach...come and
visit and check it out.
