Looking Forward

This is my very first blog submission, so I'm really trying this out as I go along.  2006 has been an interesting year for us on the Central Coast, CA, with price reductions like those seen in other parts of the country. As everyone knows, there're only so many coastal properties. Our inventory is still low.  In my little beach town of Cayucos (population: 3,000), we have about 40 properties for sale each month, including a mobile home, a few condos and ranches.  Our neighboring city of Morro Bay boasts about 80 single family homes for sale today. Prices have leveled off, whiles sales still remain stagnated.  Sellers and buyers are still not come to terms on pricing.  Thus, we enter 2007 with much anticipation and hope.

Since mid-January, I am getting a number of calls daily.  This is encouraging.  I held two open houses for two of my listings over the last weekend, and too, am encouraged by the turnout.  At each home, I had 11-12 groups of prospective buyers or sellers.  This is an almost 50% increase in foot traffic over the open houses held by me in the last quarter in our area.  I had some good leads.

The weather is warming up. We had some severe winds. Not great for Realtors if your signs keep getting blown off.  Low to nearly freezing temperatures are not helping us either.  This is an unusually chilly winter for us.  Stay warm.
